FREQUENT FLIER CLUB: Great Scott!!
My daughter, the Bean, is in the second grade. Her best friend lives across the street from us. My daughter is homeschooled. Her BFF, Pete, goes to public school. Both of them have iPod touches. We use ours for school and Pete got hers as a hand-me-down from her older sisters.
So I just realized this week, that after school, instead of going across the street and knocking on the door to see if Pete is home or instead of picking up the phone and calling over there – these two little rascals are facetiming each other to see if the other is available to play. Great Scott!!!!
This is truly a sign that we have left the 20th century far, far behind and have entered into an age I used to only dream about or see in the movies. It’s like Back to the Future really exists. None of it has happened the way they said it would, but seriously, if a 7-year-old can use a flat little screen to talk to her best friend and have video chats, that’s something amazing.
What amazes you about the 21st century? Is it the technology? Is it something else? I’d be curious to see what you think. I also can’t wait to read what you’ve been writing about. I love FFC day!!! So let’s get to it!
