Five Minute Friday: HOME
GO
Home is the end of the week when he finally walks in the door from hours on the road and we’ve gotten through all the transitions, that some weeks take longer than others, and the kids are asleep and we finally have a moment to wrap our arms around each other and breathe.
As we do, it starts off out of sync, like our moments upon seeing each other again after our days apart. Soon, we begin to breathe together, in and out, light puffs of air evaporating above our heads.
And we try to hold the moment for as long as we can. But time and responsibilities and a new week force us out of rhythm again. Separately breathing yet longing to be together.
Perhaps this will just be a season. Maybe it will last longer. For now,we live for the moments when we can breathe together, a syncopated time.
Just the two of us, home.

BEAUTIFUL!
Hi Loni! Thanks for visiting the planet today. I appreciate your kind words.
Well done! Give your breathing partner a hug for me.
Thanks friend. I definitely will. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Happy Weekend!
So good! I know exactly what you mean and it makes me think that I need to be much more intentional about finding that common breathing rhythm!
I’m so glad you hear that you understand. Have a great weekend my friend!
So beautiful! Blessings as you navigate these moments together…
Thank you Katharine. I appreciate your kind words. Have a wonderful weekend. I can’t wait to hear about what’s brewing in that brain of yours!
I love this Debi! so few words, so much emotion! even those of us with husbands who don’t travel can identify with this one!
Thank you so much Martha! Thanks for taking the time comment today. Have a wonderful weekend!
Love your dedication to re-engage.
Thanks sister. It takes work, but it’s worth it for sure.
Oh, Debi
Those moments are perhaps short and far between, those where you can just breathe together with the love of your heart, but they are soooo precious! And a time will come when life will be slower and with more time to spend together, not just breathing, but also laughing and living and just being. Over via FMF.
Much love
Mia
Thank you for your wonderfully kind words Mia. I so appreciate it. Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by the planet today!
I have a lump in my throat. The emotion kind. Maybe because as I type this my husband has been stuck for an hour and a half on 285 in Atlanta and he still has an hour to go once his truck breaks free of the gridlock. It does take effort to reconnect. To get in sync. I loved how you wrote this.
I feel your pain sister. I hope your husband makes it home safe and sound. It is hard when they are away, I know. I hope your weekend together is wonderful and relaxing and a great time of reconnecting. Thank you for stopping by today. It’s always great to “see” you!
What a beautiful testament to your love – I loved this! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you Tonya! I appreciate your taking the time to comment. Welcome to Funki Planet!
When my husband travels, there’s always a transition to settling back into two+ the kids – and it takes effort, patience – and faith in what’s there – you show it beautifully!
Thank you for your kind words. It is a challenge sometimes isn’t it? I am so glad you stopped by today. Welcome!
After reading your words I have tears in my eyes. Hearing how precious those times of being able to breath together are to you and then realizing that I take them for granted everyday. Thank you for such a sweet reminder to embrace each moment.
Thank you Amy. We definitely have to work hard not to take our moments together for granted – whether with a spouse or a child or a friend. Thank you so much for stopping by today. Welcome to Funki Planet!
oh, friend! I love your words of starting out of sync but if you keep breathing together it becomes rhythm!

Thanks for letting us inside your private world. It’s a reminder that reconnected after any time apart doesn’t happen automatically. Each moment together must be treasured & savoured.
A gazillion high-fives to you for holding down the fort during the time your Mr. Awesome is away
Thank you my friend. I so appreciate your encouragement. It’s tough, but we serve a big God – together! Thank you for stopping by. Shalom Shabbat!
